Job summary

VillageMD in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient care, rooming and basic clerical duties in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting.

You will maintain patient flow, prepare exam rooms, document vitals and allergies in the EHR, assist with orders and referrals, and help transition care as needed. Prior MA program training and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required.
• BLS or within 30 days of hire, required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient in.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for patient visit and updates EHR.
• Documents vitals, allergies and medications in EHR.
• Assists with orders, referrals and scheduling in PMS/EHR.
• Adheres to safety precautions and maintains equipment.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program

0-1 year related work experience, required

BLS certification
