Job summary

Patient First in Northern Kentucky is seeking a patient-care assistant to support Nurses and Physicians by triaging patients, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and treatment.

You will operate the electronic medical record, assist with lab orders and supplies, maintain a clean treatment area, and participate in team meetings while providing warm, professional service.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (4 to 7 hours).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Willingness to work at any center due to staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Locating patients, obtaining vital signs, triaging patients, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment.
• Understanding and using the electronic medical record system.
• Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Notifying Nurse/Physician when patient is ready for exam and communicating needs.
• Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various patient treatments and care.
• Handling physician and nurse requests in a timely manner.
• Performing lab duties as assigned.
• Sterilizing and setting up instruments.
• Receiving and storing supplies; restocking treatment rooms.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
