Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and updates patient medical records prior to appointment and coordinates services with the provider.
• Pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days before appointment; communicates with Care Team as needed.
• Prepare patients for examination (vital signs, medications, allergies, history) and escort to exam room.
• Assist in maintaining exam rooms and clinical supplies; perform injections/immunizations per state guidelines.
• Coordinate care with providers, discharge summaries, and scheduling for tests and specialists.
• Participate in department meetings and quality improvement activities.
• Dispose of waste per protocol and maintain vaccine temperature logs and inventory.
