St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Practice Operations team.

The role involves pre-visit planning, patient rooming, specimen handling, and coordinating with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of clinical experience or have graduated from a Medical Assistant program, with strong customer service skills and CPR/BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience or graduation from Medical Assistant program.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR per American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing patient records and updating for appointment.
• Pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days before appointment.
• Prepare patients for examination: vitals, meds, allergies, and history details.
• Assist with rooming, transporting, and basic patient care as directed.
• Coordinate with providers and care team on tests, labs, and discharge plans.
• Participate in department meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain vaccine temp logs and clinic inventory; manage supplies.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed (check-in/check-out, etc.).
• Suggest improvements to Practice Managers and Providers.
