Job summary

Advocate Health Care’s Aurora Medical Group is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support the care team across multiple local sites. The role involves clinical and administrative tasks, patient check-ins, and helping ensure accurate record-keeping and patient safety.

You’ll work 20 hours per week with a biweekly rotating schedule at primary and secondary locations in the Aurora Naperville and Downers Grove area. Prior MA experience or MA certification plus phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.
• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
