Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Hayward, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a fast-paced oncology clinic. You will escort patients, record vitals, prepare exam rooms, and assist with procedures, while maintaining safety and infection control protocols.

Candidates should have a Medical Assistant certification and at least one year of ambulatory experience; EMR experience is preferred. This on-site role offers hourly compensation based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
• 1 year ambulatory care experience preferred.
• 1 year EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
• Record patient data prior to visits, including vitals, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient calls and refer to physician or nurse/pharmacist as needed.

Education

Medical Assistant certification program

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred

1 year ambulatory experience preferred

1 year EMR experience preferred
