Job summary

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Internal Medicine clinic to provide clinical and administrative support. You will prepare patients, record vitals and histories, assist with examinations and testing, and help coordinate patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach, with experience in an EMR environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Strong computer and electronic medical record skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by obtaining histories, vital signs, medications, and allergies.
• Room patients efficiently and maintain clean examination rooms.
• Assist providers with examinations and routine office procedures.
• Perform basic clinical testing as trained and authorized.
• Document patient information in the EMR accurately.
• Assist with referrals, testing, and coordination of patient care.
• Maintain safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.
