Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a mission-driven Medical Assistant to join our Youngstown Health Center on a full-time basis (37.5 hours/week). The role supports patients with clinical care, education, and administrative tasks, assisting clinicians, performing lab work, and maintaining records.

The ideal candidate will be organized, patient-focused, and comfortable discussing sensitive healthcare topics with respect and non-judgment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an advanced medical assistant training program or a Certified Medical Assistant credential.
• Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, judgment, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and explain the visit process.
• Gather and document medical and social history.
• Measure vital signs and prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist clinicians during exams and procedures; perform waived lab tests.
• Administer medications within scope of training or licensure.
• Provide patient education on services, contraception, funding resources, and follow-up needs.
• Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation.
