Job summary

Health Partners of Western Ohio seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to join the Kenton Community Health Center team. You will provide hands-on patient care support, assist providers, and perform a mix of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction.

As part of a fast-paced, diverse environment, you’ll support clinical operations, participate in patient education, and collaborate with teammates to deliver excellent service.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of directly related experience preferred.
• CPR – BLS (basic life support)
• Computer experience is desirable.
• Ability to travel to different locations as needed.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by position.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations.
• Performs routine specialized procedures, such as HIV screenings, fluoride varnish application and sterile dressing changes under established protocols.
• Completes patient health screenings including hearing, vision, and all CLIA waived testing.
• Administers injections after appropriate training.
• Administers immunizations and medications that are not controlled substances.
• Maintains stock of medical supplies as necessary.
• Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
• Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities.
• Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
• May recruit patients for studies and may participate in outreach clinical activities as required.
• Performs patient education and discharge instructions.
• Completes referrals and schedules tests for patients.
