Job summary

Franklin County Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant in the Specialty Clinic to support physicians with patient care, documentation, and exam preparation. The MA will manage front-to-back patient flow, collect vitals, prepare rooms, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced clinic.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, strong communication, and proficiency with EMR. Shift is Days, 40 hours per week, non-exempt status; clinic operates with team-based care.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse certificate preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• One year of experience in a medical office environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document appropriately in the EMR according to clinic policy and direction from clinic management.
• Receive and direct phone calls; schedule appointments, check in patients, obtain necessary patient information, update records, and ensure forms are completed.
• Check-out patients, assist with referrals, and arrange laboratory services.
• Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record health history in the EMR.
• Perform routine specimen collection and tests.
• Instruct patients in specimen collection and other tests; document interactions in the EMR.
