Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Medical Assistant for a family practice on a 40-hour day shift. You will greet patients, take histories, record vitals, prepare for exams, and support providers while performing administrative tasks to keep the practice running smoothly.

This full-time role requires a MA program graduate with externship or equivalent clinical experience, current BLS-C, and willingness to work in a busy primary care setting using EPIC EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an MA program with 160-hour externship or 1 year MA experience if externship not completed.
• MA program graduate with 1 year MA experience within the last 5 years is acceptable.
• Certification as MA with at least 1 year MA experience, or LPN, or EMT with 1 year MA clinical experience.
• Military trained medical personnel with 1 year clinical experience accepted.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or by end of orientation.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Obtain and record patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assisting providers.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the practice.
• Contribute to a compassionate and patient-centered care experience.
