Job summary

St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System in Savannah, GA seeks a qualified Medical Assistant to perform routine clinical duties and assist physicians. Preferred candidates will have the Medical Assisting Program, B.S. in a lab-based science, and MA certification/BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Bachelor's of Science in a lab-based science discipline preferred.
• 1 Year Physicians practice or ambulatory care setting preferred.
• 2+ years MA experience accepted in lieu of education/certification.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs on each patient and input into the EMR.
• Verify and update patient records on each visit.
• Identify patient education needs and assist in patient teaching.
• Follow policies for routine office procedures and assist with medications and IV therapy.
• Cover the front desk as needed; answer calls and route to appropriate connections using scripting.
