Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a patient care observer/unit assistant for the 4 West unit in Troy, MI. You will provide care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and assist with safe patient transport and EMR documentation.

The role includes observing patients with constant observation, completing a week-long orientation, and working a day shift from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on a 36-hour weekly schedule, with every third weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher and document services.
• Serve as Observer for patients on a unit who require constant observation, via in-person or remote video monitoring.
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate unit operations.
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Current CNA certification preferred
