Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience required, in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agency rules and regulations.
• Radiologic Technologist license preferred; ARRT registrations preferred; BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures using appropriate imaging equipment and techniques.
• Position patients accurately and compassionately, using immobilization when necessary to support image quality and patient safety.
• Select proper imaging modes and exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic technique when appropriate.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and help create a supportive, comfortable care experience.
• Recognize the needs and behaviors of patients across age groups, including differences in growth, development, aging, understanding, and physical limitations.
