Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging in a collaborative care team. This part-time role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and precise imaging within a busy diagnostic environment.

You will perform mammography exams, review images for quality, and maintain compliance with ACR/MQSA QC protocols while staying current with required education and departmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of Radiologic Technologist experience and 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two unique identifiers.
• Gather relevant history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam clearly (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely and assisting with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first-time acceptance rate before releasing patients.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and keep equipment clean and ready per infection control/FDA guidelines.
• Provide clear pre- and post-exam instructions, address questions or elevate to providers, and support training of new team members.
