Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville, MD is hiring a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to support fertility patients and labs. You will perform high-volume phlebotomy, manage blood-drawing stations, and assist clinical staff with patient education and procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong phlebotomy skills required.
• High School diploma.
• Completion of a formal MA program; preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required.
• Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform high volume of phlebotomy.
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations.
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs.
• Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions.
• Provide pre and post op education.
• Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs.
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
• Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels.
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families.
• Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved.
• Support and promote excellence in customer service.
