Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Medical Surgical unit. This full-time day position operates on a 3x12 schedule (7a-7p) with rotating weekends, under RN supervision.

The role emphasizes direct patient care, data collection for assessments, and collaborative care planning. Active Tennessee LPN licensure is required, with certifications such as BLS and PEARS encouraged within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee license (single-state or compact) required.
• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
• Relocation licensure updated to the new PSOR before employment.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• PEARS certification within 6 months of hire.
• IV competency preferred and to be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a registered nurse per scope and standards of practice.
• Assist RN with assessment by collecting data for analysis.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including wound care and specimen collection; may administer medications; document care.
• Assist RN with development of plan of care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Monitor and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
