Job summary

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) care. The role supports a 3x12 night schedule (7p–7a) with rotating weekends.

LPN license with Tennessee or compact state eligibility is required, plus BLS and PEARS within specified timelines. Ideal candidates will have 1 year of Med-Surg experience, IV competency preferred, and the ability to work independently under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• LPN license required (Tennessee or compact).
• Graduate of Practical Nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience (preferred).
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• PEARS certification within 6 months of hire.
• IV competency preferred; intent to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Handle With Care preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision and delegation of a registered nurse, the LPN provides direct patient care in accordance with scope and standards of practice. The role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee or compact state LPN license.
• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
• Minimum one year of previous experience in a medical‑surgical setting (preferred).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition & Stabilization (PEARS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• I.V. Competency preferred; intent to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Handle With Care (HWC) preferred.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
