Responsibilities

• Initiates admission database and history; collaborates with RN on patient teaching and care needs.
• Performs nursing care tasks in compliance with standards and hospital policy.
• Observes and reports patient condition changes to RN Team Leader; documents promptly.
• Assists in orienting new staff and students to unit routines; observes infection control practices.
• Administers IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids per protocol; participates in quality improvement.
