Job summary

Atrium Health seeks an LPN to support exam rooms and patient care in Shelby, NC. You will assist with procedures, perform labs, administer meds under orders, and ensure accurate charting in EMR.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and adherence to safety standards. You will participate in care coordination, patient education, and quality-improvement activities, with responsibilities including vital signs, specimen collection, wound care, and assisting physicians during exams

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• No prior experience required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with EMR systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures and specimen collection using aseptic technique.
• Assists physicians with procedures and minor surgeries as directed.
• Administers medications under orders, including injections, IV therapy where appropriate.
• Provides patient education and coordinates follow-up appointments and referrals.
• Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and proper equipment handling.
• Participates in care management and quality improvement activities.
