Qualifications

• Must hold a current state LPN license.
• CPR certification and additional nursing specialty certification desired.
• Interest in gerontological nursing and basic nursing practice knowledge.
• Prefer 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting.
• Basic computer skills and EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing care of residents on the unit, ensuring each resident has a nurse aide capable of providing care.
• Uses independent judgment and discretion in performing duties.
• Provides safe and accurate medication-related interventions.
• Administers and documents medications and treatments per each resident’s schedule.
• Knows rationales for effects of medications and treatments and administers accordingly.
• Provides treatments per physician orders including wound care, catheterization, oxygen care, and tracheostomy care.
