Job summary

Louisiana Veterans Home is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality care to veterans. This WAE-PRN position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful daily impact.

Minimum qualifications include an LPN license, temporary permit, or NLC/eNLC license. Appointment specifics include up to 1,245 hours per year and compensation at $28.00 per hour with shift differential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or an NLC/eNLC multi-state license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Observe residents for changes in physical, mental, and/or behavioral status and report significant changes to the Supervisor and Physician.
• Transcribe physicians' orders, carry out physicians' orders, document in residents' medical records, obtain specimens for lab testing, and assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
