Job summary

State of Louisiana’s Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Monroe seeks a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver high-quality nursing care to residents in stable, predictable conditions.

You will implement selective aspects of the nursing care plan, focusing on comfort, hygiene, safety, and nutrition, under supervision. Join a dedicated team serving veterans with respect and compassion.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license (NLC/eNLC).
• Experience with nursing care in a residential setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe residents for changes in physical status, mental status, or behavior and report significant changes.
• Prepare and administer medication and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Transcribe physicians' orders and record medication and the patient's condition in the medical records.
• Apply dressings, ointments, and other treatments as ordered and document the procedure.
