Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.

Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents, administers medications or treatments, documents outcomes, and works with an interdisciplinary team to support resident well-being and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program and hold an LPN license.
• Pre-licensure experience with geriatric residents is preferred.
• Ability to work under supervision within a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for residents under supervision.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document care.
• Collaborate with the interdisiplinary team to meet resident needs.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families and staff.
