Job summary

Carle Health in Champaign, IL is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its Convenient Care team. Under the supervision of an RN or provider, you will deliver direct nursing care to patients and help manage day-to-day care in the clinic.

This full-time, day shift role includes administering medications, assisting with procedures, rooming patients, taking vitals and participating in the Code Team. BLS and LPN licensure in Illinois required; shifts and weekend requirements vary.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Education: College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
• Certificate of Completion: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, midlevel provider or physician.
• Administer medications: orally, rectally, intramuscular and inhalation.
• Assist providers with procedures such as vaginal exams, suture and staple placement, and incision and drainage.
• Member of the Code Team.
• Rooming patients: collecting vitals and medication reconciliation.
• Telephone interactions per department processes and policies.
• May perform procedures such as splinting, catheterizations, and IV hydration under competency.
• Provide patient instructions and assist with prescription refills per protocol.
