Job summary

Cadia Healthcare is seeking a Cook for our long-term care facility in Dover, DE. The Cook will prepare meals and direct the kitchen, adhering to established production procedures and dietary orders, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires knowledge of food handling, basic kitchen equipment, and prior cooking experience. ServSafe certification is preferred, and staff receive comprehensive in-house training and meal benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food handling, preparation and service.
• Knowledge of local and state health, sanitation and safety codes.
• Basic understanding of kitchen cookware and appliances.
• Previous cooking experience recommended.
• ServSafe certification; ServSafe Allergens recommended.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems as assigned by the Food Service Director.
• Determines availability of supplies and food or substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
• Correctly prepares all food following standard recipes and dietary orders.
• Maintain HACCP logs and daily production records.
• Follow safety regulations; maintain equipment and observe proper food handling techniques.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies.
