Job summary

Homestead of Estherville in Estherville, IA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with state and federal guidelines. The role supports quality resident care under supervision.

You will perform routine assessments, assist with daily hygiene, coordinate with the nursing team, document care, and participate in admission and discharge processes as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid LPN license in good standing with the State.
• Basic computer skills; able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work beyond normal hours including weekends and holidays.
• Must relate well to ill, elderly residents and communicate with empathy.
• Must comply with the Community’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with current standards and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
• Assist in admission and discharge of residents.
• Assist residents with daily hygiene care (baths, oral, ear, eye, facial, hair, nails).
• Administer nursing procedures as required (catheterization, dressings, blood draws, etc.).
• Perform routine lab tests, vital signs, and chart care per the resident’s care plan.
• Complete accident/incident reports and ensure documentation is accurate.
• Document care and resident responses; communicate changes to the Charge Nurse.
• Coordinate with the nursing team and other departments to meet resident needs.
• Monitor safety and use of equipment; report equipment/supply needs.
• Review care plans daily to ensure appropriate care is rendered.
