The role emphasizes adherence to dietary orders, portion control, and collaborative work with dieticians and supervisors to meet resident needs and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals per menu created by dieticians for each meal.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as mixer, slicer, oven, steamer.
• Maintain clean work surfaces and properly store unused foods.
• Ensure meals are prepared in large quantities with institutional cookware.
• Adhere to infection control policies and report needed repairs or stock shortages.
