Job summary

Nat-su Healthcare is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to support food service operations in a behavioral health facility. You will keep the kitchen clean, assist with basic prep, and help ensure safe, sanitary service areas for residents and staff.

The role requires dependability and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards. Core duties include dishwashing, area cleaning, waste disposal, and assisting dietary staff during meals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in kitchen, dietary, food service, or healthcare support preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.
• Current food handler permit required, or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment according to sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, serving spaces, countertops, and workstations.
• Sweep and mop floors and keep storage, dining, and kitchen areas clean and organized.
• Assist with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and portioning ingredients.
• Receive, unload, and store food and supply deliveries according to facility procedures.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables per sanitation and safety procedures.
• Follow infection control, food safety, and workplace safety policies at all times.
• Maintain resident/patient safety awareness in secure or supervised settings.
• Support dietary staff during meal preparation, service, and cleanup.
• Report damaged equipment or hazards to supervisors promptly.
