Job summary

St. Anthony's Foundation in San Francisco is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for the Fr. Alfred Center (FAC) Team. You will assist with daily meal preparation for up to 90 residents and 25 staff, follow health and safety standards, and maintain cleanliness in a fast-paced kitchen.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, flexible hours including weekends/holidays, and collaboration with Chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with chemical-dependent adults preferred.
• Knowledge of safe, sanitary food handling procedures.
• Must obtain California Food Handler Certification or be willing to obtain within two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of daily meal preparation for FAC residents and staff.
• Ensure food is prepared according to safe food handling standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen prep areas and equipment.
• Cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff and chefs.
• Ensure a safe kitchen environment and observe health and safety procedures.
• Coordinate daily prep with Chefs and complete prep sheets.
• Complete reports and input data as required.
• Participate in training to improve workflows and service delivery.
• Collaborate with team to achieve goals and maintain professionalism.
