Job summary

Woodland Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Kennel Assistant to care for boarding pets, provide meals and walks, and support the veterinary team with documentation and safety. The role emphasizes a clean, organized environment and compassionate animal handling.

Experience in kennel work is preferred; candidates should love animals and be comfortable with dogs and cats of various sizes, with good observational skills and a willingness to learn safety techniques.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred.
• A genuine passion for animal care and patient well being.
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient safety and handling techniques.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands-on animal care role.
• Strong observational skills and willingness to communicate patient concerns to the veterinary team.
• Interest in learning and growing within the veterinary profession.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals, walks, and cuddles for boarding pets.
• Administer medications and monitor health and behavior.
• Document observations and communicate concerns to the veterinary team.
• Keep kennels, treatment areas, and shared spaces clean and stocked.
