Job summary

Nuview Academy in Piscataway, NJ is seeking an Instructional Classroom Aide (substitute certification preferred) for a ten-month position. The role supports teachers and students, with duties including assisting with instruction, managing classroom activities, and providing accommodations under IEPs.

Immediate start is available pending clearances and a daily schedule from 8:25 am to 2:25 pm. Requirements include a high school diploma, background check, physical exam, and a demonstrated ability

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Submit to and pass a criminal background check
• Submit to and pass a physical examination within 30 days of employment
• Knowledge of child growth and development; ability to assist with instructional activities in all academic areas
• Good communication skills; follow procedures per student IEPs
• Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate intervention practices

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a positive classroom atmosphere and learning environment
• Collaborate with students, faculty, parents, coworkers, and administration
• Maintain professional perspective and manage student behaviors calmly
• Communicate ongoing with classroom teachers and administration
• Assist with non-teaching duties: crafts, curriculum tasks, bus supervision, clerical work
• Attend trainings, meetings, and programs as required
• Adhere to school policies and confidentiality requirements
