Job summary

The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey (Nonpublic School Services Department) is seeking a Part Time - IDEA Instructional Aide to support non-public schools. Anticipated locations include Mercer, Middlesex, Ocean, and Somerset Counties with an immediate start and pending background check clearance.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and preferred 60 college credits, plus experience with children and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
Minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited institution preferred.
Experience working with children in an educational or related setting is preferred.
Commitment to a structured, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Ability to accept supervision, implement feedback, and follow guidelines and directives.
Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills.
Ability to perform duties in a nonpublic school setting.
Background check and U.S. citizenship/work authorization required.

Responsibilities

Assist classroom teacher with non-teaching duties while implementing service plans and supervising students.
Maintain open lines of communication with classroom teachers regarding students' progress and behavior.
Assist with supervision of students during classroom instruction.
Provide an atmosphere promoting positive social and emotional growth for students.
Aid in implementing accommodations via ISPs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Instruction.
