Job summary

Addus HomeCare is hiring Direct Support Professionals to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently at home. This entry-level role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to learn quality home care fundamentals while delivering life-changing service.

Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housework, transportation to appointments, and supporting medication routines as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.
