Job summary

Right at Home Iowa City is hiring Home Health Aides (HHA) and Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to serve seniors and adults with disabilities in their community. Training will be provided, with paid development opportunities and a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate.
• Six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA).
• Successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or HHA/PCA course.
• CPR certification recommended.
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
• Valid driver’s license and access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, and light housekeeping.
• Provide meal preparation and kitchen assistance.
• Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises and daily living devices.
• Take vital signs and assist with basic health monitoring as directed.
• Assist with ostomy changes, dressing changes, and other patient-care tasks as taught by a nurse.
