Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers seeks a dedicated housekeeping associate to maintain a clean, safe living environment for residents. You will perform routine cleaning, follow infection control guidelines, and handle equipment safely.

Responsibilities include confidential handling of resident information, adherence to policies, and assisting with moving furniture. A high school diploma is preferred, and the role emphasizes personal hygiene and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
• High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to push/pull sweepers and housekeeping carts and lift 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn during an eight hour shift.
• Operates housekeeping and laundry machines.

Responsibilities

• Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
• Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
• Responsible for proper operations and cleaning of housekeeping equipment in a safe manner.
• Performs housekeeping functions in accordance with the Infection Control Program and understands the Right To Know Program.
• Performs general daily cleaning (dusting, mopping, sterilizing, disinfecting, sweeping, etc.) in assigned work areas.
• Keeps assigned areas furnished with supplies.
• Assists in moving resident’s furniture and personal belongings.
• Keeps furniture in an orderly and neat arrangement.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor
