Job summary

Baptist Health Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL is seeking a Transporter responsible for moving patients, equipment, supplies, and lab specimens across the hospital. You will help patients on/off beds and maintain a clean, safe environment throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
• Must be capable of accessing and using department computer systems such as Epic, Bed Tracking, and Outlook.
• Must complete required mandatory educational training.
• Six months of Customer Service experience preferred.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification obtained within 90 days of hire and renewed every two years.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and efficient transport of patients to all areas of the hospital.
• Communicates vital patient information with managers and team members.
• Maintains transportation equipment and ensures cleanliness and sanitation.
• Transports charts and specimens securely and confidentially.
• Supports quick response and patient comfort during transfers.
• Adheres to safety policies and HIPAA requirements.
• Assists with equipment distribution and restocking as needed.
