Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Libertyville, IL seeks a Nurse Aide to support RNs with daily patient care and maintain patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, vital signs, specimen collection, charting in the EMR, and collaborate during admissions, transfers, and discharges, while adhering to infection control and safety policies.

Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 45 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HSED required.
• Annual education requirements for hospital certifications (DNV, CARF or others).
• Ability to provide patient care appropriate to age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Measures and documents vital signs and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges; maintains patient belongings.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Maintains stock for nursing area and cleans equipment and work areas.
• Supports patient positioning, feeding, and skin care as directed.
