Job summary

AccentCare is seeking a Hospice Visit Physician to perform field visits in the Greater Houston area. You will evaluate patients for hospice eligibility, manage symptoms, and support care planning discussions with patients and families.

The role requires MD/DO licensure in the state, an active DEA, and the ability to travel. On-call duties and documentation are part of the responsibilities. Per-visit compensation applies, with a supportive, patient-centered team environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed MD or DO in state of practice with experience in chronically or terminally ill patients.
• Maintains active DEA license.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within served area.
• Working knowledge of hospice and palliative care, including pain management.
• Familiarity with hospice regulations and Medicare requirements.
• Strong clinical judgment for end-of-life care decisions.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and providers.
• Preferred hospice visit experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients for pain, symptoms, and hospice eligibility (admissions and recertifications).
• Counsel patients and families on care options and advance care planning.
• Order tests, initiate treatment, and conduct face-to-face visits as needed.
• Serve as Attending Physician when appropriate.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and attending physicians.
• Manage patient medications and participate in on-call rotation.
• Complete timely and compliant clinical documentation.
