Providence at Home with Compassus seeks an Intake Coordinator to ensure timely processing of referrals for home health and hospice services. You will verify insurance coverage and coordinate with clinical teams, maintaining accurate EMR documentation and fostering positive relationships with patients, families, and referral sources.

Responsibilities include prioritizing referrals, data entry into EMR, verification of physician orders, and clear communication of coverage criteria.

Qualifications

• 1 year Administrative experience in a Home Health or Hospice environment.
• Preferred - 1 year Home health or Hospice intake experience.
• Preferred - 2 years' Experience in a healthcare setting performing clerical tasks and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize daily referrals to ensure timely patient admissions.
• Accept referrals from multiple sources, entering data into the EMR accurately.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously.
• Verify and transcribe medical and insurance information from referrals.
• Verify physician orders, including licenses and UPIN numbers.
• Evaluate insurance for financial reimbursement and communicate coverage criteria to patients.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate services.
