Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking a dependable PRN Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide compassionate personal care at patients’ homes or care facilities. You will support terminally ill individuals with daily activities, mobility, nutrition, and comfort while documenting visits and communicating changes to the care team.

Ideal candidates hold an active CNA license, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license, and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility, including use of walkers and wheelchairs
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping
• Observe and report changes in the patient’s physical or mental condition
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement (QI) activities
• Practice infection control and follow safety protocols at all times
