Job summary

Treasure Coast Hospice seeks a Regular Full-Time Nursing Assistant to join the interdisciplinary team in providing clinical care to patients and families on the Treasure Coast and surrounding areas. Under RN supervision, you will follow the plan of care, assist with activities of daily living, ensure safe transfers, nutrition, and hydration, and maintain documentation and standards.

A Florida CNA license, CHPNA within 12 months, CPR, and EMR familiarity are required; 12 CEUs/year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (Florida State Board of Nursing).
• CHPNA within 12 months.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification.
• EMR system knowledge.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.
• Current auto insurance.
• Clinical competency upon hire and annually.
• Able to read, write, and verbally report clinical information to patients and staff.
• 12 hours CEUs annually plus company requirements.
• Attendance is a condition of employment.
• Provide program development strategies and collaborate with other departments.
• Meet or exceed standards for the position.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Treasure Coast Hospice/Model Standards for patient visits and documentation.
• Adhere to Standards and plan of care.
• Motivate and lead self with energy and integrity.
• Report concerns about patients/families to RN Supervisor.
• Perform household services to maintain a safe environment.
• Light cleaning and laundering for patient comfort.
• Perform bed bath, sponge, tub, and/or shower bath.
• Provide hair, nail, and skin care, oral hygiene.
• Ensure safe transfer techniques and ambulation.
• Assist with nutrition and fluid intake.
• Follow all standards, policies and procedures and regulations.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Plan, organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Handle challenging environments professionally.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures.
