Job summary

Tropical Health Hospice is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide personal care to terminally ill hospice patients under RN direction. You will support families and participate as part of the inter-disciplinary team.

The role requires CNA certification, completion of approved training, and Home Health Aide competencies, with at least 2 years of prior nursing assistant experience preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transport may be needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• Graduate of an approved training and competency program.
• Meets federal Home Health Aide training and competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to terminally ill hospice patients under RN direction.
• Bathing, mouth/skin/hair care; assist with bathroom use, bedpan, or commode.
• Bed transfers and ambulation per care plan; ROM exercises as instructed.
• Meal preparation and daily living tasks essential to patient wellbeing.
• Take vital signs when assigned by RN; report changes promptly.
• Provide emotional support and compassionate care; active listening.
