Job summary

Cadre Family Companies is seeking a compassionate Hospice Care Assistant (CNA) to support patients in their homes. You will provide daily living assistance—bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting—and offer companionship, empathy, and dignity while following the patient’s plan of care and maintaining privacy and safety.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Ohio.
• Minimum of one year of CNA experience in hospice/palliative care or similar.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Clean driving record and current auto insurance.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, personal hygiene).
• Assist with positioning, transfers, ambulation, and mobility needs.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and families.
• Respect patient dignity, privacy, preferences, and routines.
• Encourage independence and promote comfort and confidence.
• Provide comfort measures per care plan.
• Observe changes and communicate concerns to supervising nurse.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Change linens and assist with household tasks related to patient care.
