Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant in Chesapeake, VA. You will provide compassionate personal care, assist with mobility and activities of daily living, and support the care team to help patients heal at home.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (CNA) as per state requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during personal care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental duties as assigned.
• Observes, reports and documents changes in patient status to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse and assists with prescribed exercises.
• Performs simple urine tests for sugar, acetone and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
