Job summary

Hospice of North Alabama in Decatur, AL is seeking a compassionate Hospice CNA. You will provide 1:1 personal care, monitor patient changes, assist with mobility, and support families in a peaceful home-care environment.

Applicants need six months of personal care experience, be 18+, and hold CPR certification where required. Join a team focused on dignity, comfort, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months experience including providing personal care
• Must be 18+ years of age
• Complete a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training, 16 hours of classroom before 16 hours of practical
• Possess and maintain CPR certification where required
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
• Understands hospice philosophy and provide specialized care to terminally ill
• Ability to work with little direct supervision
• Ability to handle death/dying
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Good Organizational Skills

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition
• Assist with mobility and safe equipment use
• Help with self-administered medications per state rules
• Offer emotional support to patients and families
• Light housekeeping and meal assistance
• Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation
• Collaborate with hospice interdisciplinary team
