Job summary

A Place At Home – Fairfield South is seeking a Hospice Caregiver to support clients in Ridgefield, CT. The caregiver provides comfort, companionship, and daily living assistance while supporting families throughout the care process.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, meal support, and light housekeeping within a sensitive hospice setting. Valid driver’s license preferred and background checks required.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and patient when supporting clients and families during end-of-life care.
• Good communication with clients, families and care team.
• Ability to stay calm and supportive during emotional moments.
• Knowledge of safe mobility and transfer techniques (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition to supervisor or care team.
• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide non-medical medication reminders per care plan.
• Prepare light meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Perform light housekeeping to keep home safe and organized.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to the client.
• Assist with repositioning, mobility and transfers for comfort and safety.
• Create a peaceful environment for client and family.
• Document care and communicate to ensure continuity of care.
• Respect client privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

Education

CNA/HHA or similar caregiving experience
