Job summary

A Place At Home - Fairfield South is seeking a Hospice Support Caregiver – Non-Medical to provide compassionate, non-medical assistance to clients and families during end-of-life care, focusing on comfort, dignity and emotional support.

Responsibilities include personal care, light housekeeping, following the hospice plan, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with the care team; CNA or HHA experience preferred, plus CPR/First Aid and background check clearance.

Qualifications

• CNA, HHA, or equivalent caregiving experience preferred.
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and TB test (or willingness to obtain).
• Background check and drug screening required, with random checks thereafter.
• Physical ability to perform duties including safe lifting and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Provide comfort and companionship to clients in hospice care.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and repositioning.
• Light housekeeping, laundry, and meal/snack preparation when appropriate.
• Follow the hospice care plan and report changes in the client’s condition.
• Maintain confidentiality by HIPAA guidelines and company policies.
• Document daily care activities and communicate with other caregivers for continuity of care.
• Respect the client’s dignity, cultural beliefs, and end-of-life wishes at all times.
