Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking a dependable Hospice Aide/CNA to provide compassionate, hands-on care in patients' homes, assisted living facilities, or inpatient units. You will support personal care, mobility, meals, and family comfort while documenting visits and adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires an active CNA license in Texas, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle, and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required).
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long‑term care environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility with walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient’s condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Practice infection control and follow safety protocols.
