Job summary

Visiting Angels Albuquerque is seeking a Home Health Aide - HHA to support seniors and individuals in the local area, including Cedar Crest, Albuquerque, Tijeras and surrounding communities. The role offers opportunities for growth as you provide compassionate care, assist with daily activities, and accompany clients to appointments.

Caregivers receive training and can develop skills in dementia or Alzheimer’s care while making a meaningful difference in families’ lives in the Albuquerque region.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate; good time management.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (appointments, walks).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input when able.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them to shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
